Franklin
It brings us great sadness to announce the passing of Thomas E. Doane on Oct. 13, 2022. He was born in Hyannis, Mass. Jan. 5, 1969. He moved to Franklin in 1990.
He worked in landscaping for many years both on Cape Cod and in Hancock County. He was also very talented in masonry and has left his mark on many homes. He loved working with his hands and being outside. He clammed for many years and excelled at that as well. No matter what he did, he was a very hard worker for much of his life.
Even though he struggled with mental illness for more than half of his life, he remained a caring man who would help his family and friends do anything. He enjoyed the outdoors immensely and loved fishing with his father and son. His great pride and joy was his son Tyler, whom he loved so much and was proud of.
We will miss you greatly, Tom. Fly high, Tom, we love you.
He was predeceased by his grandparents Louis Scott and June E. (Marshall) Doane, Lloyd H. and Dorothy S. (Hollis) Linnell and many aunts and uncles and cousins of Maine and Massachusetts.
He is survived by his son Scott T. Doane of Hancock, parents, Gary S. and Jo A. Doane, of Franklin and sister Debbie Doane and partner Kevin Tracy of Franklin.
In lieu of flowers, send donations to a homeless shelter near you. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
