Susan (Stinson) Field died Sept. 12, 2022, in Denton, Texas, following a short illness. She was born on Dec. 6, 1959, to Ilene (Bunker) and Calvin L. Stinson Jr. as the first of five children.
Sue graduated from Sumner Memorial High School in East Sullivan, Class of 1979, and went on to receive a degree in accounting from Thomas College in Waterville.
In 1995, Sue married George E. Field. The couple explored life in several areas of the United States after their marriage, finally settling in the Dallas, Texas, area, where they recently celebrated their 27th anniversary.
Sue had numerous interests and hobbies that kept her busy. She was an avid poet, composing original verse for homemade greeting cards and social media. She delighted in all kinds of crafting and was a talented seamstress and knitter. Perhaps nothing gave her more joy than working with a local dog rescue organization in Texas. She lovingly helped numerous animals over the years, providing them with affection and compassion while nursing them back to health.
Sue is survived by her husband, George Field, of Savannah, Texas; mother, Ilene (Bunker) Stinson, of Veazie; sister Lisa (Stinson) McLain and her husband, Randy, of Bangor; sister Joanne Stinson and her wife, Beth Cormier, of Cumberland; and brother Mike Stinson and his wife, Martha, of Alexandria, Va. Sue is also survived by niece Jordan (McLain) Fitzpatrick and her husband, Devin, of Bangor; niece Meghan (McLain) Schwenk and her husband, Kevin, of Newport News, Va.; nephew Kyle McLain and his wife, Meagan, of Rockport; and nephew and niece Cade and Elena Stinson of Alexandria, Va. She was predeceased by her father, Calvin Stinson Jr., and her brother Stephen Stinson.
A memorial service will be held at the Prospect Harbor Cemetery on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m., followed by a reception in Sue’s honor at Harbor View House in Prospect Harbor.
