Lamoine
Katherine K. Whitaker, 93, passed away Sept. 14, 2022, in Bangor. Kay was born in Hermon, Aug. 17, 1929, the daughter of Montford and Doris (Patten) Kimball.
Kay was a graduate of Ellsworth High School, Class of 1947. In 1949, Kay married Warren Whitaker and began raising a family. She stayed at home with the children until they were old enough to go to school. She then found her career with the Ellsworth superintendent’s office as an administrative assistant.
Kay is survived by her children, Vicki Buzzell of South Carolina and husband, Rexford, Wendi Meyer of Lamoine and husband, Chris, Sharon Billington of Canada and son Daryl Whitaker of Trenton and wife, Jean; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of nearly 50 years, Warren; son, Kevin; son-in-law, Garry Billington; and brother, Kenneth Kimball.
Donations in Kay’s memory may be made to the Lamoine Baptist Church, 24 Lamoine Beach Road, Lamoine, ME 04605.
A graveside service will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery, Lamoine, Sept. 19, 2022, at 2 p.m.
