Natalie Lois Rogers Esposito Gaspar, 93, died peacefully on Aug. 20, 2022, after a lengthy stay at Northern Light Blue Hill Hospital. She was born May 9, 1929, in Ellsworth, the daughter of Philip S. and Ella N. (Hallowell) Rogers.

Natalie started her school days at the Surry Village School and graduated in Portland, Maine from (what we believe to be) Cathedral Catholic High School. She was employed as a deli clerk at Doug’s Shop and Save. But as a Mom, Grammie, Great-Grammie and Great-Great-Grammie she made it her mission each year to hand-knit mittens, hats and/or socks for all of her family from the oldest to the tiniest for as long as her hands allowed. Over the years she knit beautiful sweaters for everyone and always made sure to knit a Christmas stocking with the name of each new family member as they came along. Even the pets! But oh! She made the most comfortable, warm knit socks!

Natalie is survived by four of her five children, Catherine Mahar of Middletown, Conn., Vincent Esposito Jr. and wife, Leslie, of Surry, Philip Esposito and wife, Roxane, of Bangor, and Richard Esposito and wife, Linda, of New Britain, Conn.; nine grandchildren (many with a spouse or partner) residing in Maine, Massachusetts, Florida and Connecticut, Teresa Quinn, Andrew Quinn, Stephanie Engblom, Corey Esposito, Shauna Esposito, Amanda O’Shea, Allen Esposito, Vincent Esposito and Christina Esposito; 15 great-grandchildren residing in Canada, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut and North Carolina, Jaclyn Quinn, Nevaeh Look, Leilani Quinn, Oakley Quinn, Brandon Esposito, Devon Esposito, Brian Mahar, James Woodward, Corey Esposito, Anthony Esposito, Natalie Esposito, Ellen Caldwell, Vincent Caldwell, Scarlett O’Shea and Luca Esposito; and five great-great-grandchildren residing in Connecticut and North Carolina, Noah Esposito, Anthony Esposito, Tyler Esposito, Kaislyn Esposito and Kynleigh Esposito.

She was predeceased by husbands Vincent Esposito Sr. (divorced) and Ronald Gaspar, daughter Patricia Esposito Quinn, son-in-law Brian Mahar and granddaughter Elizabeth Mahar.

A private family interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Surry at a later date.

The family would like to thank the staff of NLBH Hospital for their loving care.

Cremation by Downeast Direct Cremation, Bangor.
