Brett D. Smith, 56, passed away at home on May 4, 2022. Brett was born on June 22, 1965, in Cherry Point, N.C., to Sheila Mae (Bridges) and Lawrence William Smith.
Brett loved building and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His dog, Sam, will miss playing ball with him daily. Brett was a teacher at heart. He was an inspiration to the next generation.
Brett is survived by his wife of 35 years, Mary Ann (Tozier) Smith, and son Emmitt J. Smith; sisters, Dawn Bryant, Tammy Tripler and Heidi Marton; brothers, Todd and Lornie Smith; and all of his best friends throughout the years. There are too many to list, but know he loved you all! To all his nieces and nephews, Brett’s wisdom lives on in you. Brett was predeceased by a brother, Geoff G. Smith.
A celebration of life will be held on June 4, 2022, at 306 Peninsula Dr., Mariaville, at 2 p.m.
