Georgine “GiGi” Lee Saunders was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She left this world suddenly on Feb. 10, 2022, at age 63.
She was born to Fred L. and Betty A. Saunders on Jan. 20, 1959. After graduating from high school, GiGi trained to become a beautician. She spent many years making the women of Blue Hill and surrounding areas look beautiful and her son Shayne Curtis Gross wishing to never smell another permanent in his life! She held many jobs throughout her lifetime and wherever she worked she was quick to make friends and acquaintances along the way.
Gigi loved spending time with her grandchildren Chase and Lucas, reading (although she never finished a single book), quilting/crafting, writing poetry and telling tales out of school and most of all looking fabulous.
She is survived by her son Shayne and his wife, Emerald. Cherished grandmother to Lucas and Chase. Loving sister of Patricia Stover, Roxanna Grindle and husband, James, and Geraldine Nevells. Remembered by her many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Betty Saunders.
Her cheerful attitude and bright smile will be missed by all who knew and loved her. “Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories.” A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
