MACHIAS/ELLSWORTH – Dorothy Charlotte Proulx, 73, died on Sept. 19, 2016, after an extended illness. She was born in Putnam, Conn. on Feb. 5, 1943, the daughter of Carl and Grace Stoddard. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Eugene Proulx of Mobile, Ala. She is also survived by her daughter, Michelle Proulx of Mobile, Ala., son Eugene Proulx II and wife, Tina, of Addison, N.Y.; sister Shirley Geel and husband, Roger, of East Machias; niece Kelli Emery and husband, Donald, of Jonesboro; nephew Jeff Geel and wife, Jennifer, of East Machias; great-nephew Dustin Emery of Jonesboro; and several cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and brother Albert Stoddard. Charlotte was devoted to her handmade crafts and going to craft fairs, gardening, and helping friends and family.
