Lamoine
Stanley C. Wilson Sr., 88, died unexpectedly Oct. 19, 2021, at his home in Lamoine. He was born in Augusta, Dec. 14, 1932, the son of Lewis and Rena (Barrows) Wilson.
Stan was educated in Augusta and then joined the U.S. Air Force, serving four years in Burlington, Vt. Following his service, he worked for Pratt & Whitney in Connecticut and Florida. Returning to Maine, he was an appliance technician at Sears for eight years. Moving to Lamoine, he started his own business, Stan’s Appliance and Service.
He is survived by his children, Anita Raymond, Deb Detzer and family, Alani Nadworny and family, Patricia Ann Caplinger, Carl Wilson and wife, Stephanie; grandchildren, Jason Googins and Josh Raymond, Jalaine, Brittany, Jake and Alexis Caplinger, Mitchell Wilson and Jesse Wilson; sister, Jane Johnson; last but not least, Cheryl Caplinger, his partner of 41 years. He was predeceased by his parents; son, Stan Wilson Jr.; and granddaughter, Jaime Detzer. He will be sorely missed by his feline friends, Blackie, and Muffin and by those who loved him.
Per Stan’s request, there will be no services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
