Lynda Jane “Lynn” Friedman MacKinnon

Lynda Jane “Lynn” Friedman MacKinnon of Hendersonville, N.C., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021. She was 70.

Lynn was born May 29, 1951, to the late Betty and Harold Friedman in Miami, Fla. She earned a Bachelor’s in Recreation from Florida State University. She lived in South Miami, Fla., until April 2020, when she moved with her husband to Hendersonville, N.C. Lynn was dedicated to helping others through the 12-step groups Al-Anon and Alateen. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hendersonville and enjoyed singing in the choir. She recently began singing with the Flat Rock Playhouse chorus. Lynn loved spending time with her husband and her children. She loved cooking, gardening, animals and nature.

Lynn is survived by her husband of 34 years, Kenneth MacKinnon; son, Michael, of Chattanooga, Tenn., and daughter, Laura (Adolfo MacKinnon), of Duluth, Minn.; sister, Judy Jones, of Houghton, Mich., and brother-in-law, Jerold MacKinnon, of Miami, Fla.

A service was held in Lynn’s honor on Friday, Oct. 29, 2021, at Hendersonville’s First United Methodist Church (204 6th Avenue W, Hendersonville, NC 28739). Rev. Kelli Mullinix officiated. Interment will be in Lamoine.
