Katie Lynn Laura Turner passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 6, 2021, in Ellsworth. She was born on Feb. 9, 1984, to Lloyd and Emily in Blue Hill.

Katie was very family-oriented and spending time with us was the most important thing in her life. She enjoyed fishing, going to camp and the beach. Lobster fishing on the F/V AUDREY E with our dad and learning all aspects of the job were very important to her. She was very involved in basketball and sportsmanship in school. Katie had many jobs in the medical field including Oxycare, several nursing homes and private duty/live in care. Katie really liked spending time with other people and learning their stories. She went out of her way to make people feel included or brighten someone’s day. Her smile and laugh alone could make a person feel seen, no matter where they were in their lives.

She is survived by her father Lloyd Turner, Jr. and partner Audrey Bowden of Penobscot; siblings; Vivian Turner and partner Keagan Welts, Penobscot; Lloyd Turner III and partner Christine Hill, Penobscot; Marie Smith and husband, Don Smith, Stockton Springs; Annette Emery and husband Mark Emery, Orland; nieces Lorraine Kennedy, Windi Ashe, Ashley Coulter, Morgan Welts and Kaylin Welts; nephews Zachary Emery, Jacob Emery and Jacob Blake; several aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A graveside service will be held at noon Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, at Hillside Cemetery in North Penobscot with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. A reception will follow at the Bagaduce Hall in Penobscot.
