Joan Annette Jordan, 83, passed away under the care of Marlene Walker at Total Care Solutions in Holden on Sept. 2, 2021. She was born in Waltham, March 14, 1938, the daughter of Asa and Dora (Grover) Jordan.
Joan graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1955 and took her first job working at Dwight Brown Agency. On Sept. 8, 1956, she married her husband, Philip Jordan, and began running the family business, Philip Jordan & Sons, as the logistical manager. Joan and Philip started their family in Waltham, where they enjoyed a beautiful life together; later they moved to Frankfort, where they tended blueberry fields. Joan will be dearly missed by her family and all those whose life she has touched.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Philip Jordan; sons, Daniel of Waltham, David and wife, Susan, of Lamoine, Vaughn and wife, Terri, of Waltham and Andrew and wife, Shirley, of Bangor; daughter-in-law, Deborah Dawson of Waltham; grandchildren, Nathan, Jodi Bennett and husband, Timothy, of Waldoboro, Nicholas of Bradley, Tyler and wife, Zanna, of Cary, N.C., Anna Hanson and husband, Aaron, of Trenton, Joshua and wife, Stevi, of Ellsworth, Jacob of Ellsworth, Noah and wife, Caitlin, of Ellsworth, step-grandson, Anthony Jones, and wife, Kelly, of Ellsworth, Meghan Murray and husband, Ted, of Bangor, Leah of Dover, N.H., Kimberly Lorenc and husband, Alex, of Westbrook; great-grandchildren, Whitney, Asa, Kira, Timothy, Ezrah, Noelle, Rein, Qoheleth, Evangeline, Megan, Caleb, Elliott, Bryer, Parker, Jett, Eloise and Carter; and sister, Ellaine Frost of Ellsworth. She was predeceased by her brothers, Perry, Ronald (R.F. Jordan) and Steven.
The family will be holding a private celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan’s memory may be made to Total Care Solutions, 625 South Road, Holden, ME 04429.
