Morris Young, 70, passed away peacefully at his home in Ellsworth with his wife and children by his side after a long illness on July 30, 2021. Morris, also known as Moe, was born in Gouldsboro on Aug. 18, 1950. He was a bus driver for Gouldsboro and Ellsworth, a job that he loved, and he was head of transportation for Ellsworth before he retired. In the ’80s, Moe was an avid bowler; in 1988 he was state champion. He loved to go camping with his family and taking trips. Toward the end of his life Moe enjoyed the simpler things in life, such as Thursday family dinners, playing cribbage with his children and going to the riverfront with his wife to watch the eagles.
Moe is survived by his wife, Joyce Young; son Clint and wife, Christine; daughter Angela and husband, Travis; sister Wanda and Charlie Theobald; brothers Jeff, Lawrence, Warren, Carl and Earl Young; stepchildren Michelle Mcnabb, Samantha Desjardin, Nicole Butterworth, Audra Shedeck, Brian Shedeck, Richie and Kenny Gray as well as grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by Marie Grover, Leanard Young, Loretta Ray, Larry and Gilbert Young.
Moe had a wonderful sense of humor and will be greatly missed by family friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Aug. 5 at 1 p.m. at the Knights of Pythias, Route 1, Gouldsboro. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Trenton SPCA, as Moe loved animals.
