obit-heath2_LAMOINE
– Patricia Mary (Ashmore) Heath, age 55, was called home to be with her spiritual family on Sept. 4, 2016. Patty was born May 31, 1961, the youngest of five daughters to George H. Ashmore and Ruth “Betty” (Frost) Ashmore. Patty was early to this world as a premature newborn and she was early to leave us as well. Her earthly body will no longer suffer in pain.

She attended high school at Mount Desert Island High School, graduating in 1979 and joining the work force. Patty spent the majority of her life in the beautiful coastal town of Lamoine. Patty was a compassionate woman and treasured caring for others. She felt most herself when she was working in her chosen field of home health, serving as a home health aide. She worked in the field until her illness prevented her from working any longer and she chose a new career of full-time grandmother.

Patty is survived by the love of her life; her husband of 16 years, Brent Heath of Lamoine; a sister Bonnie Ashmore-Jordan and her partner, Brooks Osgood, of Brooksville, sister Linda Richardson and husband, Ed, of Waterford, Maine, sister Wendy Winne of Peyton, Colo.; daughters Deb Ashmore of Ellsworth, Katie Bowman and her fiancé, Michael Spatz, of Ellsworth, a son Christopher Bowman and his wife, Felicia, of Ellsworth; granddaughters Avery Moyer and fiancée, Lorelei Wright, and McKenzie Bowman; grandsons Garrett Moyer and Joseph Bowman; multiple nieces and nephew; special care giver and friend, Beth Bishop, and too many friends to name.

She was predeceased by her father George Ashmore, mother Betty Ashmore, sister Dee Dee Smith, nieces Lisa and Amy Smith.

A few short years ago, Patty discovered a talent for painting and found great value in time spent with a paintbrush in her hand. Her work now hangs in of many her family and friends’ homes.

Patty’s journey was made better by so many over the years. Her family would like to thank the many health care professionals from Blue Hill Hospital, Maine Coast Memorial Hospital, Cancer Care of Maine, Eastern Maine Medical Center and Hancock County Hospice for all your care. She appreciated each and every one of you for all you did for her.

Viewing hours will be held Thursday, Sept. 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral to be held Sunday, Sept. 11, at 3 p.m. Both services will be held at Bragdon-Kelly Funeral Home, 215 Main St., Ellsworth, ME 04605. Public welcome.

Gifts in Patty’s name can be made to Eastern Maine Cancer Care or The Beth C. Wright Center to help fund the research for liposarcoma.

Arrangements by Bragdon-Kelly Funeral Home, Ellsworth. Online condolences may shared at www.bragdonkelley.com.
