Marshall Dean Hawkes

It is with great sadness that we announce that Marshall Dean Hawkes 77, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., went to the Lord on Sunday, April 25, 2021. He was born on Aug. 16, 1943, the son of Hollis D. Hawkes and Hazel L. Murch. Mr. Hawkes served 21 years in the U.S. Navy. He started as a seaman apprentice and retired as an officer. He served many years in the Washington, D.C., area including the Pentagon as well as overseas.

After retirement, Mr. Hawkes continued to work for various government agencies as a computer programmer, and then relocated and retired in South Carolina. Mr. Hawkes is survived by his wife, Judith E. Hawkes, of Myrtle Beach and his three children, Mark A. Hawkes of Spotsylvania, Va., Julie A. McGlothlin of Spotsylvania, Va., and Melanie J. Dodson of Henderson, Nev. He also leaves behind four siblings, Hollis D. Hawkes of Arlington, Mass., Duane V. Hawkes of Hampstead, N.H., Larrie A. Hawkes of Wells and Sondra Campbell of Brewer; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at a later date with burial in Trenton.
