Tanner Michael Thibault, 17, died in a tragic vehicle accident Feb. 6, 2021. Born in Ellsworth on Easter, April 20, 2003, he was the son of Kenneth Michael Thibault Jr. (Mike) and Tracy L. Rice.
Tanner was a junior at Sumner Memorial High School. With his dedication and hard work, he would have graduated with high honors. He was proud to be one of seven members of the College Exploration and Engagement Program through Maine Seacoast Mission. He planned to pursue college, where he would continue his love for baseball. Tanner enjoyed lobster fishing in the bay, fishing at Camp Pickled, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, Swamp Rest, video games and basketball, but his love was baseball.
Tanner is survived by his parents, his grandparents, Kenneth M. Thibault Sr., and wife, Lynn, of Gouldsboro, Gail Ambadjes of Guilford, Conn., and Jackie Rice of Birch Harbor, many aunts, uncles and cousins, and numerous friends.
Tanner’s favorite times were when surrounded by friends and family, and he was quick to lend a helping hand. A terrific friend, he was always there to listen, or provide needed support. He looked after others, always putting them first.
Tanner was loved by so many, and will be greatly missed by Amy, Jenna, Lauren, special cousins Lexi, Leah, Brianna and Brennan, and his extra special Deanna.
And he will be remembered by his “brothers,” Gavin, Jayden, Christopher, Keith, Jett and Collin their entire lives.
Tanner was predeceased by his great-grandparents, Alderic and Ida Thibault, and grandfather, James “Sunny” Rice Jr.
