Beverly June Gray Walls

Blue Hill

Beverly June Gray Walls passed away on Nov. 29, 2020, in her sleep. She was 83 years old. Beverly was born in Blue Hill and grew up in Sedgwick and was the daughter of Ruth Astbury and Kenneth Gray. She graduated from George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, embroidery, flower arranging and hosting her many grandchildren in the summer, which often included local trips to water parks, museums and the ocean. Beverly was a talented cook and especially delighted in cooking for others. Saturday night dinners at the Walls’ home often consisted of many of the neighborhood kids joining the family for Beverly’s homemade baked beans and yeast rolls.

Beverly was an avid believer and devoted follower of the Christian faith. She and her husband, “Bob,” attended the Full Gospel Church of Ellsworth for many years, and then the First Baptist Church in Blue Hill, where she enjoyed many close friendships. Beverly also enjoyed singing and occasionally sang in the choir.

Beverly was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Robert (Bob) J. Walls, as well as her brothers Wayne Gray and Kermit Gray and her sister, Roberta Pert. She is survived by her four children, Timothy Walls of Blue Hill, Karen Morris of Garland, Melanie Sullivan of Coventry, R.I., and Shawn Walls of Pittsburgh, Pa. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, her sister-in-law and closest friend, Lelia Gray, and her brother-in-law Duane Pert.

No service is currently scheduled due to COVID regulations and restrictions, however, a memorial service in the spring is anticipated and will be announced at a later date.
