Obit- HallBAR HARBOR – Our mother, Marie J. Hall (1920-2016), has died. At an early age she lost her own mother and had to learn to live with this loss. She grew up to be a strong woman and a woman of strong convictions.

She believed in herself and in her children; she was energetic and determined to do everything she could to ensure that she and her children did the very best that they could in everything they attempted.

A teacher, translator, traveler, gardener and loyal wife, an avid reader, ever curious about what was going on in the wider world, her interests ranged from art, literature and poetry to politics and natural history. She was open to the beauties and wonders of nature, in which she saw the hand of a higher power at work.

She gave a great deal of thought to a great number of topics; she was an articulate woman who could be counted on to have something well considered to say about whatever she turned her mind to. She truly and strongly believed that there was a right way and a wrong way to do things. She has now found her peace. She is survived by her children Mark, Michael (Judy), Molly (Lori), Thomas (Shelley), Peter and Kateri (Tom), thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Casimir’s RC Church, 502 New Jersey Avenue, Riverside, New Jersey 08075.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marie’s name may be made to South Jersey Food Bank.

Condolences may be expressed at www.chadwickmemorialhome.com or www.jordanfernald.com.
