Kenneth James Piskura, 77, died peacefully on Sept. 14 in Florida.
He was born to Thomas Piskura and May Haldo on May 14, 1943, in Milford, Conn.
Kenneth was a USAF veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. After his time in the service he moved to Maine, where he raised his children.
Ken worked at Thorsen’s Machine Shop, did sales and repairs at Cal Weed’s Sew & Save Shop, then went into business for himself at Ken’s Vac & Sew Shop in Orrington. He retired to St. Petersburg, Fla., with his wife, (Mickey) Helen Miller.
Ken was loved by many and loved his family. Ken was known for having a heart of gold!
He will be missed dearly by his wife, Helen Miller Piskura, brother, sisters and spouses; Thomas Piskura and wife, Joyce, of South Carolina, Phyllis Cote and husband, Tom, of Florida, Pearl Carlson and husband, Bob, of Connecticut and Paula Grube and husband, Marty, of Florida. His children, Robin Prussat and partner Robert of North Carolina, Michelle Rafferty of Surry, Lori Robinson and husband, Nate, of Idaho, Steven Piskura and wife, Joni, of Orland and Jamie Beck and husband, Michael, of Bangor. Ken had 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, as well as many nephews and nieces who referred to Ken as “Uncle Bonesy.”
Ken was predeceased by his parents, Thomas Piskura and Mary Halko.
The family will have a private memorial service for Ken.
