Marie Blanch (McFadden) Tucker, 89, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2020, surrounded by her loving family at her bedside.
The only child of Clara and Vernon McFadden, she was born on March 8, 1931, in Lubec. She graduated valedictorian of her class from Jonesport-Beals High School.
Marie lived a life full of adventure. She attended church regularly and belonged to several community groups, including the Narraguagus Women’s Club. Marie had many hobbies such as knitting, crocheting, cross country skiing with the bobcat, playing the organ and piano and baking. She had the opportunity to travel the world and always had a story to tell about her trips.
She is survived by her husband, Captain Harris E. Tucker; son, Jeff Crowley, and his wife, Margie; daughter-in-law, Kay Crowley; several grandchildren including Shannon, Michael, Jennifer, Carey and Jeremy; and many great-grandchildren. She will always have a special place in the heart of her two best friends, Rose Roberts and Margie Nichols.
Marie was predeceased by her parents, Clara and Vernon McFadden, and her son, Christopher Crowley.
A memorial service is planned for Friday, July 24, at 1 p.m. at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Cherryfield.
