ELLSWORTH

It is with great sadness that the children of Doris K. Bunker announce the news of her death from natural causes. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. Doris went home to be with her Heavenly Father on July 20, 2020. She was born in Ellsworth on Feb. 1, 1939.

Doris was a faithful, dedicated employee at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital for 54 years, loving every day when she could be of assistance to others. In addition to her work as an administrative assistant at MCMH to a myriad of CEOs, she was busy raising her three children. She was a member of the Franklin Baptist Church for many years and, upon moving to Ellsworth, she became a member of Family Bible Church.

She is survived by her children, Teresa, Kelley and husband, Gary Taylor, and Greg and fiancée Bobbi Ann Harris, as well as special nephews and grandchildren. Doris was predeceased by husband Paul Bunker in 1996 and husband Paul Rzasa in 2010 and her sister, Lucille Nelson, in 2012.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date with Pastor Scott Connors officiating.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Katy Lawson, FNP, the staff members of Cooper Gilmore Health Center and staff members of Northern Light Home Care and Hospice involved with Doris’s care.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Maine Coast Hospital Foundation, Doris K. Bunker Fund, 50 Union St., Ellsworth, ME 04605 or to the United Baptist Church, 28 Hancock St., Ellsworth.

Arrangements are being handled by Acadia Burial & Cremation Direct, 148 State St., Ellsworth. Condolences may be expressed at www.acadiacremation.com.
