PENOBSCOT
Margaret (Peggy) Arbuckle, 79, passed away at home surrounded by family on July 13, 2020. Peggy was born in Castine to Paul and Bessie Robertson Hinckley on April 18, 1941.
She lived her entire life in Penobscot, where she raised her three children, Deborah Stockbridge of Swan’s Island, David Astbury of Clifton, Tammy Brouty of Penobscot and later an adopted son, Kyle Arbuckle of Penobscot.
Peggy is survived by her four children, loving husband, William (Bill) Arbuckle of Penobscot; sister, Dola Hinckley of Clifton; and brother, Danial Hinckley of Blue Hill; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; stepmother, Elenor Hinckley; sister, Pauline Gray; and first husband, David Astbury.
Peggy’s greatest interests in life were filled by being a devoted mother, wife and grandmother to her family, spending a lot of time playing bingo and chasing yard sales.
Celebration of Peggy’s life will be a private service at the River View Cemetery in North Bucksport and a celebration of life at Peggy and Bill’s home in North Penobscot on Saturday, Aug. 1, at 5 p.m.
