HANCOCK — Karen K. Brooks, 56, passed away peacefully March 17, 2016, with her family by her side. She was born July 13, 1959, daughter of George and Eleanor (Wilbur) Brooks.
Karen graduated from Ellsworth High School, Class of 1977. She worked at LaVerdiere’s Drug Store for many years. She also worked as a front desk clerk at Holiday Inn in Ellsworth and in the deli at Walmart in Brewer. She loved animals and gardening.
She is survived by her mother, Eleanor; sisters, Jane Phillips and husband John; Brenda Colwell and husband George; nieces and nephews, Jeremy Phillips and wife, Amy; Jamie Trader and husband, Stephen; Kimberly Snow and husband, Jeremy; Katherine Colwell; great-nieces and nephews, Bode Phillips, Simon Trader, Asher Phillips, Paige Trader, Cambridge Phillips; special aunt and uncle, Virginia Wilbur of Eastbrook and Lloyd “Bullet” Wilbur of Franklin. She was preceded in death by her father.
Thank you to the staff at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care of Karen.
Visitation will be held 1 p.m., Sunday, March 20, 2016, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Spring interment will be held at Woodbine Cemetery.
