TREMONT
George H. Seavey Sr., 85, of Tremont passed away on Feb. 29, 2020. He was born on March 4, 1934, at Mount Desert Island Hospital to Merrill Seavey Sr. and Georgie Belle (Freeman) Seavey.
George spent his life on the water as a boat captain and lobsterman.
George is survived by his wife, Margaret (Worster) Seavey; children, Debbie, Marty (Maria), Susie and George Jr. (Nicole); stepdaughters, Stephanie (Bill) and Jaslyn; grandchildren, Kim, Kate, Lauren, Kaitlynn, Ethan, Aidan, Audrey, Julian, Silas, Lilah Belle, Cameron, Taylor and Seth; several nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Doug, Merrill and Roger; and his children’s moms, Jane Ginn and Kathy Seavey.

Per George’s request, no funeral services will be held. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor George’s life are invited to donate to the Captain George Seavey Fishery Scholarship fund at Bar Harbor Bank & Trust for MDI students wishing to pursue a career in fishing.
