
ORLAND
Leonard M. Haseltine passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 19, 2019, at his home in Orland. He was born Nov. 13, 1949, to Clyde R. Haseltine and Vivian (Seymour) Haseltine. He was a 1968 graduate of Stearns High School and attended Eastern Baptist College in Pennsylvania. In 1975, he and wife, Pamela (Kinsman) Haseltine, returned to Maine to build a home in Orland and start a family. Len was employed by Epsteins for two years followed by St. Regis, where he worked for 30 years.
Len was very active in the Orland United Methodist Church, serving as trustee chair for many years. He oversaw much of the work to restore the church’s historic appearance. He was also active in Boy Scouts, serving as a troop leader and on several committees. Most recently, Len was instrumental in the coordination between the church and the local Boy Scout troop. Len was an avid craftsman, enjoying stained glass, craft making and carpentry. He enjoyed traveling, genealogy, connecting with others through technology and, most importantly, time with his friends and family, in particular his grandchildren.
Len is survived by his wife, Pam, of 48 years, his daughter, Melissa Sheets of Monterey, Calif., his son, Jeremy, of Orland, grandsons Colton, Chandler, Keegan and Aiden, sisters Nancy Maddocks and Barbara Merriam, brothers Paul Haseltine, Clifton Haseltine and many extended family members and close friends. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Seymour Haseltine.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 28, 2019, at the Orland United Methodist Church on Narramissic Lane. Memorial donations may be sent to Orland United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 81, Orland, ME 04472.
