Jessica Elizabeth Kane, 22, died Oct. 25, 2019, at her home in Ellsworth. She was born Jan. 15, 1997, in Bar Harbor, the daughter of Gerald C. “Jerry” Kane Jr. and Michelle M. “Missy” MacQuinn.
Jessica graduated from Lamoine Elementary School and attended Mount Desert Island High School. She received her Maine High School Equivalence Diploma in June of 2018. She recently had started working at the Jackson Laboratory and was excited about what was in store for her in the future. Jessica loved the outdoors, including water activities, hunting and fishing. Jessica loved animals, especially her feline brother, Beantoes.
Besides her parents, Jessica is survived by her grandparents, Gerald C. and Leona Kane Sr., David and Dede Jeffers-Paine and Barbara “Binky” MacQuinn; aunts and uncles, including Paul and Lacey MacQuinn, Stacey Crowley, Kristin Belistein, Heidi MacQuinn, Shelley and Brian Jacobs, Richard and Meredith Kane and Jasper and Phyllis Kane; cousins, Chelsey Dawicki and partner Tom Chisholm, Morgan Dawicki, Jennifer Sargent and Shain Dunlop and Finn Teach and friends too numerous to mention. She was predeceased by her grandfather, Ronald “Ronnie” MacQuinn, and aunt, Kimberly Ruth Sargent.
Friends are invited to call 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, Nov. 1, 2019, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019. Interment will be at Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth.
