MILBRIDGE and Waterville
Stanley Owen Hall, 72, of Waterville and Milbridge went to be with the Lord and his Savior, unexpectedly, Sept. 2, 2019, at his home in Waterville. Stanley was born June 29, 1947, in Steuben, the seventh of 10 children to Alvin Hall Sr. and Marjorie (Grant) Hall.
Stan grew up in Milbridge, graduated from Milbridge High School in 1967, and later followed his calling to attend the New Brunswick Bible Institute. Stan continued in his faith and served as a trustee and deacon at his local church for several years. Stan had many passions in his life, one of which was his trade as a professional meat cutter, resulting in employment with many different stores throughout Maine as well as coming to the aid of friends and family during hunting season. Stanley was an avid hunter and fisherman, and would never shy away from the cribbage board nor a debate about his favorite New England sports team, particularly, how no one could be a better quarterback than Tom Brady. He will forever be remembered by his family for his ability to tell stories and jokes, his robust laugh, his healthy appetite and love for long Buick sedans that lovingly earned him the nickname Uncle Buck. He will be missed at the Thanksgiving dinner table of Alvin Jr. and Lauren, where he was always invited and came to join the family.
He is survived by his two sons, Christopher, who resided and looked after him daily, and Shannon of Woburn, Mass.; two grandsons, Oliver and Taylor, whom he loved dearly; sister Elizabeth Flaherty and husband, Tom, of Sullivan; three brothers and their wives, Carroll and Mary Belle of Amherst, Everard and Priscilla of Milbridge, Alton and Patty of Harrah, Wash., and Alvin Jr. and Lauren of Cherryfield; seven nieces and six nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his sisters Marilyn, Alvina and Loretta, and one brother, Nathan.
A graveside service will be held, by the family, at a later date.
