Franklin

Linda Haskell passed peacefully at home on July 26, 2019, after losing her battle with cancer.

She was born in Portland, Maine, on Oct. 18, 1942, the daughter of Raymond C. Soule and Virginia F. Bartlett. She attended Cony High School in Augusta.

Linda married James E. Haskell of Gardiner on Oct. 17, 1964, in Gardiner. They resided in numerous places due to her husband’s military career, including Maine, Mississippi, Puerto Rico and Virginia. They raised three children, Dwain Haskell and his family of Franklin; William Haskell and his family of Argile; and Michele Springer and her family of Sullivan.

She is survived by three brothers and one sister, Wayne Soule and his family of Augusta; Neal Soule and his family of Augusta; David Soule and his family of Sidney; and Patti Soule and her family of Sidney. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and her Yorkshire terrier, Mattie. She spent many hours crocheting and giving away the things she made.

Linda was the backbone of her family, who faithfully tended to her during her short hospice care, and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

A memorial service will be held at Bible Baptist Church in Hancock at 1 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 18.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cancer Care of Maine in Brewer.
