Lamoine 
Charles E. Ashmore, 85,died May 27, 2019, at Maine Veterans Home in Bangor from complications from Parkinson’s disease. He was the son of George and Lelia (Jordan) Ashmore. He was born July 20, 1933, in Lamoine.
He was in the Navy for four years and the reserves for six years. He worked at Ashmore Bros. for 13 years doing front end alignments and frame straightening. In 1974, he opened and operated Charlie’s AutoCenter and owned it for 10 years. He was also part owner of Gordon’s Glass. Charlie mowed lawns for many years retiring at age 82 when he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. He enjoyed his time at his camp on Flanders Pond and spent 26 winters in Dade City, Fla.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sharon (Knox), son Charles, sister Christine Fowler Reed and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, sisters, brothers and a son, Michael.
Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Bragdon Kelley Funeral Home, Ellsworth.
