Margaret “Peggy” B. Ashmall passed from time to eternity April 12 at home. She was born Dec. 23, 1942, in Saginaw, Mich., the daughter of George and Margaret Baldwin Paine.
After graduation from Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw, Mich., Peggy earned an associate degree from Delta College in Michigan. She headed the vehicle leasing department of Wickes Lumber Co. for many years, and completed her career as a housing specialist for the Saginaw (Mich.) Housing Commission, after which she and her husband, Don, retired to Gouldsboro. During her career, she was an active member of Michigan Avenue Baptist Church and later the inspiration of fellowship groups and other ministries of Bridgeport Community Church. Her outgoing and generous personality made everyone she met a friend.
Peggy is survived by her loving husband, Donald; by her son John Wier and his daughter Kendall, by her daughter Wendy Groll, her husband, Robert, and their daughter Nina; by Don’s sons Donald Ashmall Jr., his wife, Misti, and their sons Alex and Ryan; and Robert Ashmall, his wife, Dawn, and their sons Anthony and Connor; by her sisters Susan Wagner; Barbara Fribley and her husband, Jerome; and Georgeann Haught and her husband, Rod; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 22, at Bridgeport Community Church, 3821 State St., Bridgeport, Mich., with calling hours 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. April 21 at Case Funeral Home, 4480 Mackinaw, Saginaw, Mich. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Saginaw, Mich. A memorial service will be held in Gouldsboro this summer.
