Jack Hinkle, 89, of Milbridge, passed away peacefully March 25 at Narraguagus Bay Health Care Facility. Jack was born Aug. 3, 1929, in Redlands, Calif., to Albert and Ida Hinkle.
Jack graduated from Redlands High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1947 to 1953. He married Shirley Kummer in Redlands, Calif., on July 31, 1948. He spent the last 20 years with his companion JoAn Page.
After the military, Jack worked in the construction trades and as a building inspector for the cities of San Bernardino and Rialto, Calif.
Jack was predeceased by his wife, Shirley, sons Bruce (Cathi) and Jay (Betsy), and his sister Lorraine Hunter.
Jack is survived by his sons Gary Hinkle of Tucson, Ariz., and Jim Hinkle and wife, Ginnie, of Tucson, Ariz. Grandchildren, Richard Hinkle (Kristin), Jeremy Hinkle (Christy), Marie Whittaker (James) and Phillip Hinkle (Courtney). He also leaves eight great-grandchildren.
