FRANKLIN
John O. Coburn (Jack), 85, longtime resident of Franklin, passed away on Feb. 13 at the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris. He was born Oct. 18, 1933, in Bancroft, son of the late Adelbert and Marie Coburn. He attended local schools in Danforth and Bancroft and enlisted in the Navy, where he served his time aboard two destroyers sailing in European waters.
Jackie was predeceased by his two brothers, Lawrence and Ronald, and sister Minette. Survivors include his lovely wife, Lorraine, of 58½ years, and their children Lawrence Coburn and Kathy Conrad of Maine, Kevin Coburn of California and Joelle Dixon of Florida; two sons-in-law Glen Conrad and Mike Dixon, grandchildren Blake, Deagan and Nik Conrad; Brandy Diaz, Caroline and Benjamin Dixon; great-grandchildren Donavin and Natalia Diaz and their father Raul Diaz; and Jack’s two sisters Joann Brewer and Cellie Dach with their children and grandchildren. Jack had many extended family members such as Lillian Leighton, Martha Moon and Jim Price, who were very close to Jackie. Several family and friends that were very important in Jackie’s life that are greatly loved and appreciated always.
A graveside service will be in the spring time at a date and time to be announced.
