FRANKLIN – Judith Ann Maclean, 79, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2016. Her life was filled with love, laughter, music, books, art, photography, family and friends. Judith Ann, (Judie, Jude, Mom, Grammy, Aunt Judie) was always up for an adventure, creating good natured mischief and mayhem almost everywhere she went. Her sense of humor was infectious and endearing. She was a wonderful storyteller and she cherished the number of years she worked at the Ellsworth Public Library as the assistant children’s librarian.
Storytelling always came naturally to her and Judith Ann often would use puppets and props to bring a story to life. An avid reader all her life, books, books and more books always surrounded her. As time passed and her eyesight faded, she remained undaunted transferring her affections to books on tape and CD. You could always count on her for a stimulating conversation pertaining to her current subject of interest.
A deeply spiritual woman, Judith Ann lived her life ever curious about the unseen, unknown realms and her personal convictions held her close through the challenging last years of her life when she was not able to communicate with those she loved as she once had. Even then, her sense of humor remained intact through the last days of her life, and for this we will always be grateful.
She lives on in each of us in perfect, special and unique ways. If it weren’t for her, we would not be who we are; Bob, her husband of 61 years; her children, Kevin, Tracy, Heather and Cameron; her grandchildren, Lanika, Brendan, Hilary, Phoebe and Lauren; and her great-grandchildren, Jade, Emma, Jakob, Ashlin and Roman. We honor her in love and gratitude for a beautiful and precious life well lived and for showing us the power of Auntie Mame’s words, “Yes! LIVE! Life’s a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death.”
