SULLIVAN
Elizabeth “Libby” Joy, 80, of East Sullivan died peacefully at her home on Jan. 26, 2019, after a
brief battle with cancer.
Libby owned and operated “A Touch of Maine,” where she was often found painting, roofing or making wreaths. Libby was strong and had a kind, generous heart. She never gave up on those she loved. She was always able to strike up a conversation with anyone and make them feel as if they’d been friends for years. Her legacy of kindness and hard work will be carried on by those whose lives she touched.
Libby was a devoted mother to her six kids, David, Diane, Donnie, Doddie, Tim and Thom. She was lovingly referred to as “Nanny” by her more than 20 grandachildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her longtime partner Russell.
A celebration of life will be held Feb. 9, 2019, from 3-6 p.m., at the David A. Hooper Lodge located at 132 Bert Gray Road in Sullivan.
Arrangements by Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth.
